New e-Book "Bricscad for AutoCAD users"

upFront.eZine Publishing, Canada has published a 144-page e-Book (PDF) titled "Bricscad for AutoCAD Users". It describes the similarities and differences between the two CAD programs, and would be of interest to CAD users interested in transitioning to Bricscad. The ebook is available in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format, and covers these topics:

- Advantages to Bricscad
- What's missing from Bricscad
- Comparison of user interfaces
- Detailed comparison of drawing file compatbility
- Customizing and programming Bricscad
- AutoCAD-Bricscad dictionary
- Four appendices of reference material

The e-Book is written in a simple, easy to understand tone and is not user manual-like. The chapters clearly explain what it sets out to.

Chapter 1. Bricscad for AutoCAD Users

Chapter 2. Comparing User Interfaces

Chapter 3. Drawing File Compatibility

Chapter 4. Customizing and Programming Bricscad

Appendix A - AutoCAD-Bricscad Command Cross-reference

Appendix B - AutoCAD-Bricscad System Variable Cross-reference

Appendix C - AutoCAD-Bricscad Alias Cross-reference

Appendix D - AutoCAD-Bricscad Keystroke and Button Cross-reference

This book is like a self-help guide to Bricscad. If you are familiar with AutoCAD, and are looking for the equivalent feature in Bricscad and cannot find it, this book is for you. I would recommend you to check this out to gain a much better understanding of not only the Bricscad platform, but also of Bricsys and Autodesk.

GeoTools 10.08b minor update:

Bug fixes & Enhancements:

1. GT_MATCH : (Blocks Tools -> Replace Block) : The operation of the Select Manual' method has been changed slighlty. Instead of offering an option to choose the layer name(s) first, the program now offers a 'Select objects' prompt first. If no objects are selected, the option to filter by layer name(s) is offered next. This change has been effected to make the process of selection more intuitive.

2. GT_CENTLINE : (Build Tools -> Multiple-Variable measure) : The GT_MVMEASURE command now has its own scale factor option. You can now specify a block scale factor for each block that it inserts. It will no longer take the X and Y scale factors from the global defaults.
